today's buzz....

barrington and bella bears...also known as 'the cub-kins'!

i am super super excited to be a part of this little 'venture' with a great company called Vintage Courtiere based out of florida

i have designed a line called 'cub-kins' which consist of a brother and sister bear named barrington and bella. further on, there might be other 'kin' added to this line. but for now, i thought these 2 cuties were a good start.

they will be appliques which will be sewn onto anything from onesies to t shirts to dresses to towels but the amazing jodee harder, who runs Vintage Courtiere.

i am so psyched to see my designs on fabric for the first time ever!!!

i don't usually post my work in stages, but i've gotten so many requests to see "how i work". so here it is...i suppose it's not SO bad;) i'm just such a perfectionist, that i only like to unveil the original sketch...and the finished painting of course.

but, there's a always a first time for everything...

today's buzz...

made some progress today. unfortuneately, my scanner is just not cooperating this week so i had to rely on my phone to take a pic (hence the lousy color and lack of sharpness). the green border really didn't photograph well. it's actually a lime/apple green just like in the bedding below.


what's left to do? another coat on the borders, hanging stars and some small details around and on the borders. then a sweet butter yellow satin ribbon will be attached for hanging...and finally UP FOR SALE!:)

today's buzz...

i have been meaning to update this blog since my first post last tuesday, but as many of my fans/followers know, i had neck and spinal surgery a couple weeks ago (actually my second one in 2 months...ugghhh). anyway, the painting has been a little slow due to the pain....and the pain meds and their wonderful effects;)
so i am hoping to finish up these sweet little bears in a couple days (usually a project of this size would be done in a day or two but with the surgery...well you know...). these match the sweetest little dreamtime bedding by jenny http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/pam/pam5177beds.html
i know my pic is a bit blurry, but my scanner (and my camera) decided not to cooperate tonight. once these cuties are done, they will be for sale in my etsy shop:)

AND THEN...i will be taking custom orders for fairy princesses and angels (which were a BIG hit for last year as christmas gifts). stay tuned...
